"Double, double, Toil and Trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble…" William Shakspeare's lines from Macbeth bring lots of Halloween images to mind! When I was creating the projects for my Tricks and Treats Halloween Class I had some fun making my own "Eyes of Newt" with the great Toil and Trouble stamp set!
These yummy eyes are upside down Rolo's. The "cauldron", which actually looks more like a boat, is made from the largest framelit in the Apothecary Accent framelits set.
The same shape that is used to cut out the "Eye of Newt, Toe of Bat…" stamp image. To make the holder for the eyes I used the Simply Scored to mark some score lines. See the video below for where to score. Make sure when you assemble the sides (with Glue Dots) that you angle it out so all the "Eyes" fit. I secured each eye with a dimensional at the bottom.
The bat was made with the good old Owl Buider Punch (what did I ever do before I had that punch?! I use it for everything!) and the Beautiful Butterfly die.
Here is a short video on how to make the bat.
The image is stamped in VersaMark ink on black and embossed with Wild Wasabi embossing powder. I also stamped the image in StazOn Jet Black on Whisper White and cut out just the words "Eye of Newt" to highlight just those words.
