So I have a 13 year old son. And as much as I love flowery butterfly cards, they don't go over so well with teenage boys. Therefore, I'm always on the lookout for cards that work for teens AND for guys.
I have been using this layout for many different cards lately – but this is the first masculine version.
Do you recognize this layout form my previous post about these Stacked With Love cards?
Here are the dimensions for this fun card layout. Base: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" (Basic Gray used here). Card portion: 6 1/4" x 5 1/4", scored at 4" (Smoky Slate used here). Design element for the lower portion of the card: 1 1/4" x 4 3/4" layer of Basic Gray, 1" x 4 1/2" Adventure Bound Designer Paper Stack (rock pattern).
The new Adventure Bound papers are really fun. One side of the paper is a photograph – like these rocks, and the other side is a nice, generic, masculine pattern.
The Crazy About You Stamp set and the coordinating Hello You framelits were the perfect match for this card! Check out the great price if you purchase the two items together! I was inspired for this project from a swap card I received at the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference in Florida a couple of weeks ago. The card was made by Amanda Frankel - her version was a 3" x 3" card but I loved how she combined the "you rock" sentiment with the Adventure Bound paper. Thanks Amanda!
Our Whip-It Wednesday mascot, Bella the Whippet, is hard at work staying warm during this cold Minnesota winter!
