I love the beautiful art work on this awesome In The Meadow stamp set!! Deer (and nature in general) always remind me of my dad so they are extra special to me. I stamped the image in Early Espresso ink and colored the deer with a blender and my Tip Top Taupe ink pad.
To do this I squeezed my Tip Top Taupe ink pad, while it was still closed, so that the inside pad connected with the lid of the pad leaving a pool of ink to use as a paint pallet. I started with my blender pen on a scratch paper to lighten the color, and then colored the fawn's face. I used a fuller concentration of ink on the mama deer so that the fawn's face would pop out.
Although the set comes with an inside greeting, I chose to do a birthday greeting instead from the Birthday Blooms stamp set.
And since this sweet set has me thinking of my dad, here is a photo of Dad and my son Joe fishing at our families Christmas tree farm in Southern Iowa many years ago!
