Happy Whip-it Wednesday! Another fast project today – this one is an easy strawberry I made using the new Stampin' Up! Blossom Builder punch!
First I embossed a scrap of Real Red card stock with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder and then punched out a large petal shape to make the strawberry.
Next I punched out a 5 petal flower from Cucumber Crush card stock.
I snipped off two of the leaves and attached it with a glue dot to make the perfect Strawberry!
A piece of the Cucumber Crush Thick Baker's Twine made a perfect stem! The greeting is from the Bunch of Blossom's stamp set that coordinates with this punch. I used the Layering Oval Thinlits to cut it out - theses thinlits are a "must have" for a beautifully finished card.
I used the "Recessed Panel" technique for the rest of the card. I cut the following sizes of Basic Black card stock: 1" x 5 1/2" and 2 1/4" x 5 1/2". I also cut two pieces of Real Red 3/4" x 5 1/2". I attached the red panels to the black panels. Then I measured 1" over from the fold of the 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" white card base and attached a 1" x 5 1/2" strip of the Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper. I learned this great Recessed Panel technique from my friend Barb Brimhall. You can see her lovely version here.
I attached the black panels to the card base with dimensionals so the patterned paper would be "recessed" – super easy!
A quick peek at the inside of the card. Another strawberry with the Stylized Birthday stamp.
I've also made lots of projects with this punch and stamp set that are actual flowers – I can't wait to share them with you on my upcoming blog posts!
Here is our Whip-it Wednesday mascot, Bella the Whippet with all 8 of her puppies! This photo was taken by a wonderful photographer, Laurie Erickson. She is so talented!
I liked this photo of my little Mercy girl so much that I made it into a "thank you card" to send to my niece who puppy sat for me this last weekend.
Happy stamping!
Susan
