Creative Inking Blog Hop: Peeking Into the Holidays

The beautiful background is made with a unique new embossing folder – the Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder. This folder creates an incredible deep texture.  It is so thick that you only use 1 cutting pad in the Big Shot instead of 2! Due to the deep impression there is some shrinkage of card stock – to make up for that you may want to add a 1/8" to the length of your card stock (for this card that would be 5 3/8" x 4").  The instructions suggest spritzing with water to avoid cracking in the card stock. However, I did not experience any cracking with our high quality Stampin' Up!® card stock.  Spritzing will give you a slightly more dramatic texture but I would recommend spritzing with rubbing alcohol instead of water – you will get less buckling of the paper and it will dry faster.  

The stamp set that I used for this card is called Stitched With Cheer – the images in the set coordinate with the new Holly Berry Builder punch too!  I used my Decorative Label Punch for the sentiment and popped it up on dimensionals. The new Baker's Twine Trio Pack (a roll each of Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, and gold twine) is looped behind the sentiment to add more texture and a pop of color.
