Spooky fun! Isn't this coffin a perfect craft for Halloween! But wait until you see what is hiding inside! Slide off the ribbon and tassel belly band….
And out pops this adorable vampire from the Cookie Cutter Halloween stamp set! Boo! Scroll down to see how I got the vampire to "pop" up!
I created the coffin using the Home Sweet Home Thinlits Dies. I cut two, just like I was going to make the house, but I cut the tabs off the sides and bottom of one side to make the "lid" for the coffin. I filled it with "eyeball" gumballs and added the greeting to the inside of the lid after cutting it out with the Layering Oval Dies. I hand cut the bat image from the Cookie Cutter Halloween stamp set and adhered it below the greeting.
The window sheet is very stiff and since it is clear, it is perfect to make the figure "pop". I actually stamped and colored two vampires, punched them out with the Cookie Cutter Punch and adhered them to the window sheet with glue dots. I used the Gold Wink of Stella to color his medallion and the Real Red Marker to color his vest.
To make the front of my coffin extra creepy, I cut out the bat image with the Halloween Scene Edeglit dies and coated it with clear Wink of Stella glitter brush. Then I attached it to the lid with a half a dimensional. I was inspired by a similar project that I saw on Pinterest by Martha Inchley – thank you Martha! Have a happy Halloween!
