Pretty Pines thinlits dies – are gorgeous!! Scroll down for some tips on cutting, adhering, and storing these intricate die cuts. This pretty designer paper, Presents & Pinecones, is part of the "Buy Three Get One Free" deal that is going on in October. I've been stocking up on it for my holiday projects and used some of it for this pretty card.
In this close up you can see the detail on these amazing die cuts! I used the dryer sheet method to aid in getting the paper to release from the dies easily.
Dryer Sheet method: First I quarter fold a dryer sheet (I have best results with a higher quality dryer sheet – like Bounce). Then I place the card stock in one corner with the die on top. Crank it through your Big Shot – the die pops right off and ALL the card stock sticks to the dryer sheet – no poking out little bits of card stock – yea!
Next I peel up the die cut image that I want to use, and I leave all the little bits that I don't need stuck to the dryer sheet. You can keep using the dryer sheet – both sides, until every available space is filled with die cut pieces.
To adhere these intricate cut outs, I use the Liquid Glue. I apply it in small dots and then I LET IT DRY BEFORE ADHERING. This adhesive dries tacky and super sticky so it sticks great but I don't have to worry about having excess glue ooze out. It's kind of like make your own mini glue dots.
To store dies that match a stamp set, I have started putting an adhesive backed piece of magnet sheet inside the stamp case – then everything is all together when I need it!
For the inside of the card – I used the Reason for the Season stamp set and on the outside the "Peace Be With You" greeting.
I used the Emerald Envy ribbon from the 3/8" Silky Taffeta Ribbon Combo Pack with includes a roll of Cherry Cobbler ribbon too!
Thank you so much for stopping by today!! Make sure to check out the "Buy Three Get One Free" Paper Special! Happy stamping!
