Creative Inking Blog Hop: Saying Thanks Creatively

Blog Hop Title

This month our hop is all about gratitude! And I'm grateful (and excited) to show you this pretty "Thank You" card!

Winter Woods Thank You - 2

I used the gorgeous Winter Woods stamp set in Merry Merlot and stamped the image a second time without reinking on a smaller layer to get the lighter portion.

The card is a fun fold and opens up with an accordion fold on the inside.  The inside is 4" x 9 3/4" and is scored at 1 1/2", 3", and 4 1/2". The front and back "covers" are Merry Merlot 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

I used the Rooted In Nature stamp set to stamp on the folds with Merry Merlot ink – I stamped 3 times without reinking to get the light and darks.

The pretty Tin Tile embossing folder adds detail to the front and the GORGEOUS Copper & Merry Merlot ribbon makes it even prettier!

  1. Thank you Linda! I got a similar fold in a swap (except the card used 12″ x 12″ paper) so I adapted it to the 8 1/2″ x 11″ size. Unfortunately the original swap card does not have the creators name on it so I can’t give them credit for this awesome fold.

  3. I absolutely love your card. Do you have any pointers when adhering the front and back layers to the accordion fold? Thank you again for sharing your card and directions.

  5. Thank you! Yes – my favorite way to put the “covers” on this card is upside down. So I pleat the accordion fold and put adhesive on the last fold (the part that will attach to the card front). Then I take the Merry Merlot piece that will be the card front and place it upside down on the table. Then I turn the inside piece upside down, center it over the front, and adhere it. Then I place adhesive on the back of the inside piece, turn it upside down, and center it over the back of the card and attach. Hope that makes sense!
