Squeeze Box Fun Fold Cards

New fun fold! Five fun freestanding cards that can show both sides of the Designer Series Paper AND can have a pocket for a gift card or tag. I created the Squeeze Box Fun Fold Cards for the August Suestampfield Crafternoon Creative Escape.

Obviously the front of the Squeeze Box card looks like a regular, beautiful card, right?? But inside…

There is a “squeeze box” or accordion fold that pops out and allows the card to stand for display! I designed this card specifically to show off both sides of a Designer Series Paper. Sometimes the paper is so pretty on both sides, that it is a shame to cover it up. Which is absolutely the situation with this new All About Autumn Designer Series Paper. This gorgeous paper will be available to purchase on September 6th.

One side of the paper is a photo realistic scene, and the other side…

…has beautiful copper accents. Additionally, this fun fold card design can be made with or without a gift card pocket. Check out the video tutorial at the bottom of this post to learn how to create this unique fun fold card.

A closer look at the Squeeze Box Fun Fold Cards

In this overhead view, you can see how the fold works. The front and back panels are completely separate from each other, and the accordion or squeeze box section connects the back and front of the card. Special thanks to creator Monika Jakubowska who inspired this fun fold with her card that I found on Pinterest. You can see her beautiful version here: https://monika-jot.blogspot.com/2011/08/czy-to-mozliwe.html

When the card is closed it folds flat, with a finished size of 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″, and easily fits into a standard card envelope. At the bottom of this post there is a step by step video on how to assemble this style of fun fold card. I also have an option to purchase a step-by-step tutorial for the basics of this fun fold design and directions on how to make ALL of the projects shown in this blog post.

Ready to see another one of the Squeeze Box Fun Fold Cards? This one also uses the Wanted To Say dies and the Hello, Irresistible Designer Series Paper!

This beautiful version of the Squeeze Box Fun Fold was the make and take for this month’s Crafternoon virtual class. Customers who placed an order of $50 before tax and shipping in July received the packet in August to make this card along with me in the video.

The Hello, Irresistible Designer Series Paper is part of the Stampin’ Up! Online Exclusive offerings. This gorgeous limited edition paper could sell out at any time, so if it is on your wish list I suggest you order it as soon as possible. If it is still available you can find it HERE.

The Wanted To Say Dies have more then words! The die set includes some other images – like the flower, stem, present, and the bow die. There is also a cluster of stars and some hearts. Moreover, when paired with the calming effect of Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock, you have created a beautiful card!

This is the same card as above, but with a different Designer Series Paper. The new Garden Walk Designer Series Paper will be available to purchase on September 6th. You can find it in the upcoming mini catalog on page 53. Customers who placed a qualifying order in July also received a piece of the Garden Walk Designer Series Paper (either the pattern show above or the one shown below). So they could make their card with either Designer Series Paper AND would have an extra piece of Designer Series Paper to make a second card with their own supplies.

Wouldn’t it be fun to make and send some Beary Cute Squeeze Box Fun Fold Cards for the upcoming holidays?

Meet the new Beary Christmas Suite of products in the upcoming September – December Mini Catalog – SO adorable! And best of all, this card is simple to make!

The Beary Christmas paper is beautiful and makes for an instantly adorable card. In the PDF tutorial I walk you through, step by step how to make this card.

Of course, on the inside of the card you can use the Beary Cute stamp set and punch to add extra cuteness!

Boo! Halloween is coming, a perfect occasion to create some Tricks & Treats Squeeze Box Fun Fold cards!

Eek! The new Tricks & Treats bundle (available to order on September 6th) makes the cutest Halloween cards! The Tricks & Treats dies include a die that makes a treat bag, but the stamps and dies also make adorable cards The Designer Series Paper is called Them Bones – perfect Halloween colors.

The Tricks & Treats dies include pieces to die cut and build your own candy corn. Even if you don’t like to eat candy corn, it sure is cute inside a card!

Lots of fun decorating options inside these Squeeze Box Fun Fold Cards. For this version, I had a lot of fun with…

The Glow-in-the-dark Specialty Paper and the Glow-in-the-dark Bats & Ghosts embellishments! These Glow-in-the-dark items and the Them Bones Designer Series Paper are part of the new Them Bones suite of products that will be available to order on September 6th. OR you can order them NOW when you purchase the demonstrator Starter Kit.

Gorgeous! You can also make Squeeze Box Fun Fold Cards with a pocket for a tag or a cash gift. And can choose to show only ONE side of the Designer Series Paper.

Last but not least, a stunning Textured Floral card! This Squeeze Box card shows off the pretty Fresh Freesia pattern in the Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper. Additionally the card features the Soft Shimmer Specialty Paper, which adds a touch of glitter to the front and the inside of the card.

The Scalloped Contour dies add extra elegance and pair up beautifully with the Textured Floral bundle. In the PDF tutorial I walk you through, step by step, how to create the pocket with the pretty scallop. The ribbon on the tag and on the front of the card is the new White 1/2″ Iridescent Ribbon from the September – December Mini Catalog.

The pocket can hold a scalloped tag OR you can put a cash gift in the pocket. This card would be perfect for weddings, birthdays, or anniversaries. As you can see in the photo below, the other side of the paper is also pretty, but it does not quite go with the elegant style of this card. So in the PDF tutorial I share how to redesign the measurements when you are working with papers where you only want one side of the paper to show.

  1. Thanks Susan for the projects U send and congratulations for your Stampin’ Up anniversary. A long time in making cards. How long did it take to work up the courage to do live presentations? All the best.
