Welcome to our hop! This month’s theme is one of my FAVORITE themes – fun folds!! The fun fold that I’m sharing today is easy to do but has a nice “wow” effect when the recipient opens the card. As a creator it is always fun to get that “wow!” response!
To create the cards I used the gorgeous Encircled In Friendship Bundle which just happens to work perfectly with this fold!
One of the beautiful Encircled In Beauty dies cuts an elegant window opening in the card. Through the opening you can see the greeting, and when you open the card you can pull out the inside portion to expose the inside message which is cut with another die from the set. This version is in Misty Moonlight paired with the free Stampin’ Rewards “Pattern Party” Designer Series Paper.
- Card base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″.
- Insert piece: 5 1/4″ x 8″ and with the 8″ length across the top of the trimmer, score at 2″ and 4″.
Watch the video at the bottom of this post for assembly tips.
This sweet message of thoughtfulness from the Encircled In Friendship set is perfect for reaching out to those who are struggling with an illness or life challenges. For this version I chose Night of Navy and paired it with the Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper. All of the cards I’m featuring today use the versatile Elegant Faceted Gems.
For the inside version of this card, I used a 5/8″ x 3″ piece of card stock instead of a circle to match the You’re In My Thoughts sentiment. Another of the things I like about this fun fold, you can stamp an image in the lower portion of the piece that pulls out.
The third version I used So Saffron card stock, Bumblebee ink, and, once again, I paired it with the Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper. This message of kindness in the Encircled in Friendship is so perfectly phrased – I value kindness so much and love having a stamp that puts my feelings into words!
I wanted to wrap a ribbon around the card, but due to the design that didn’t work. So I adjusted the design for this second set of cards to allow me to wrap the ribbon.. To allow for the ribbon I made this change:
- Card Base: 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″
- Insert piece: 5 1/4″ x 8″ and with the 8″ length across the top of the trimmer, is scored at 2″ and 4″. (Same as above)
This version is in Blushing Bride and is paired with the gorgeous Love You Always Specialty Designer Paper. The elegant foil accents in the paper perfectly pair up with the elegance of the Encircled In Beauty bundle. As you can see, by changing the card base size I could now wrap the Blushing Bride metallic ribbon completely around the card.
Value tip: Both the Love You Always Specialty Designer Paper and the Blushing Bride Metallic Ribbon are retiring and on sale right now for 50% off! To view ALL of the items on sale, visit the Last Chance Products page in the online store HERE.
The insert piece still opens out to the right, just as before, but now I can wrap ribbon around the front of the card. The other two cards in this set were in Petal Pink and Sahara Sand.
Here is the video tutorial for the main version of the card with all of the dimensions and assembly tips. Thank you so much for visiting my blog today! Time to hop along and see what fun folds the other hoppers have created!

Beautiful cards, Susan!
Adorable. Thanks for sharing. Can’t wait to give it a try.
Just made this card along with you. My first fold card I’ve ever made alone. I am so happy with the way it turned out. Thank you so much. Your directions were great. 😊
Yay! I’m so very glad you made the card Judy!
