In my February Virtual Crafternoon class, we learned how to create Pop & Wiggle fun fold cards! In this blog post, I have 6 unique Pop & Wiggle Fun Fold Cards using a variety of Stampin’ Up! products, each card with its own wiggly component on the inside. I have also included a video tutorial and a purchasable PDF tutorial with step-by-step photos and instructions on how to make all the versions.
Storybook Butterflies Pop & Wiggle Card
Our February Crafternoon fun fold packet project showcased the gorgeous dies from the Storybook Friends bundle, paired with the coordinating Storybook Moments Designer Series Paper, and the vintage look from the Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder. This beautiful paper is framable – literally! Such a tiny piece of pretty paper yet it makes a stunning card. Customers who placed a $50 product order (before tax and shipping) in my Stampin’ Up! online store during January received a packet in February to create this lovely card alongside me in the video tutorial. Because we all know that handmade cards from the heart certainly can make the world a kinder place, one card at a time.
Of course, the magic with the Pop & Wiggle Fun Fold Cards happens when you open up this gatefold style card (the “Hello Friend” closure keeps the card closed). The greeting panel is on a pop up, so the greeting jumps out and at the same time the butterflies, which are also attached to the pop up with invisible window sheet strips, start to wiggle! All the details are in the Pop & Wiggle Card step-by-step tutorial!
Finished size for the Pop & Wiggle Cards is 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and they all fit in a standard A2 Envelope.
As you open and close the left gatefold side of the card, the butterflies wiggle and flutter up and down – so fun! This special fold was inspired by a swap card that I received from demonstrator Carol Johnson with standard fold version of this method. You can see Carol’s card at the bottom of this blog post. I also included step-by-step instructions for the standard fold version in the PDF tutorial as a bonus.

This card makes me so happy! It features the bright and cheerful Lovely Garden Designer Series Paper which will be available soon in the Stampin’ Up! Online Exclusives! The pretty patterned paper does ALL the work on this card – no need to add anything else to the front other then some classic greetings from the Thankful Garden stamp set and a few sparkly Starburst Sequins.
The little “& thanks” holds this gatefold card tightly closed until it is ready to be opened, then a simple tug leads too…
Some pretty wiggling leaves which are die cut with the Thankful Garden dies! So simple but the pop up element and the fluttering leaves inside make it a WOW card!

Storybook Easter Basket Card – can you guess who is hiding inside, waiting to wiggle?!
A little Easter fun! I used some dies and embellishments to create an easter basket full of eggs (more on that below). And once again I used the Storybook Friends bundle, but this time I paired it with the pretty Balmy Blue from the Subtles Assorted Designer Series Paper pack. And inside the card…

Hop up and wiggle! As you pull back and forth on the left gatefold, he hops and wiggles right at you!
For the Easter basket I used the Crafting with You dies. I used the basket die and the die that has the two heart shapes on it and laid them on their sides so they looked like eggs. I also added some Rainbow Dots tucked in the back of the basket for more eggs. I walk you through the process with the step by step photos and instructions in the Pop & Wiggle Cards PDF tutorial!

This gatefold card features even more of the new online exclusive Lovely Garden suite of products. I’ve used the amazing masks that are included with the Thankful Garden bundle to color the flowers! So, so easy, and the results make you feel like an artist! I walk you through the steps in the PDF tutorial!
Inside the card we have some wiggling leaves again along with a different lovely floral pattern from the paper.
The paper is so pretty and makes the inside of the card just as gorgeous as the front of the card! The sweet sentiment is from the new Year of Flowers stamp set (coming March 4th!).
Botanical Textures Suite coming on March 4th in the Stampin’ Up! new Online Exclusives!
Our last gatefold version of the Pop & Wiggle Card features some more new products! Customers will be able to order these products on March 4th. Demonstrators can purchase them now or they can be added to the starter kit. This card features the beautiful Botanical Textures Designer Series Paper, the Textured Notes nested rectangle dies, and the Mini Corrugated 3D embossing folder – so pretty!
The Pop & Wiggle cards are all gatefold cards (except for the special bonus that I’ve added at the end of the tutorial of a standard fold version), so each card has a “closure” mechanism. This one has a unique “buckle” style closure made with one of the Textured Notes rectangle dies. All the instructions are in the tutorial!
For this card the “wiggle” element is a sweet thank you! Of course, it could also be any other sentiment to fit the occasion – from birthday to anniversary! Can you see the unique die cut details on the edges of the various rectangles from the Texture Notes nested rectangle dies – they add so much texture!
Because this Pop & Wiggle Fun Fold Card is on a dark card base, I added an inside greeting panel on the back of the right gatefold.
Bonus Standard Fold! Storybook Lost Lagoon Pop & Wiggle Card is NOT a gatefold card but it still pops and it still wiggles!
All of the above Pop & Wiggle Fun Fold Cards were gatefold cards. As a bonus in the tutorial, I’m including a standard fold version based on the original swap card I received that inspired me to make this fold (it is pictured further below). This version is made with the beautiful Storybook Moments Designer Series Paper and the Beautiful Butterflies bundle!
Inside the card I also used some of the Timeless Plaid Designer Series Paper. The mechanism for this version is slightly wider and longer and the window sheet strips that the wiggling butterflies are attached to are shorter. All the details are in the tutorial.
Carol Johnson’s Bloom Impressions Standard Fold Pop & Wiggle Card
This is the beautiful swap card created by demonstrator Carol Johnson that I received which inspired the Pop & Wiggle cards.
I host “swap drop” videos with my team where I show them all of the swap cards I receive and we all let out a GASP when we saw the butterflies move on the inside! A HUGE thank you to Carol Johnson for sharing her design and being so gracious as to even send me the mechanism!
