Trick or Treat! Ghost Peep in a Cute Pocket!

IMG_6553-imp

Now is the time to start planning those Halloween treats!  This is a quick and easy project that is sure to get squeals of delight from the recipient.  I can just picture my niece who is in college when she opens this care package in October!  See the end of this post for a full list of supplies, and then pick up any supplies you need here.

These little ghost peeps are so adorable – aren't they?!  Update on where to get the Ghost Peeps – last night I found them at my local grocery store, Cub Foods in the Halloween aisle!  Because they were so cute on their own – all I had to do was create a darling pocket to show that little cutie off!

To make the pocket, I took the largest framelit from the Apothecary Accents framelit set:

127003L
Then I took a strip of the Witches Brew designer paper, 3" x 12", and folded it in half to make it 3" x 6":

Fold in half so the black pattern with spiders is on the inside.

Next, I used my magnetic platform, covered it with a cutting pad, laid down my folded paper, and then laid the framelit on top.  But I slide the folded edge of the paper up so it was above the cutting part of the framelit and would not get cut.  I've used a piece of Old Olive in the picture below so that you can see the placement better:

This is what my leftover scrap looked like when I opened it up:

After cutting, I folded down the top half of the paper, exposing the black spider pattern, lined it up with the bottom half of the framelit and creased it to form the pocket.

I did NOT put any adhesive on the sides of the pocket because my chubby, fluffy, marshmallow ghost peep would not fit if I did!  Instead, I tied a piece of 1/8" Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain ribbon around the pocket and secured it with a glue dot.

I stamped the tag with the adorable Halloween Hello set, punched it out with the 1" circle punch, and backed it with a pumpkin pie 1 1/4" scallop circle punch out. I put a dimensional behind the tag to further secure it and to keep it from sliding down.

The peep went into the Stampin' Up!® 4" x 6" cello bag, with the excess bag folded behind.  I secured the top with a piece of the gorgeous Basic Black Chevron ribbon (love!). Can you think of any special trick or treaters in your life who would love to get one of these little cuties for Halloween?!  Here is the full list of supplies!
