I love daffodils – such happy spring flowers! As my daffodil bulbs are covered in a 9" of fresh snow, I decided to turn to paper daffodils! What a bright and cheery spring birthday card this would be for a special friend! Who knew that the Petite Petal Punch made such perfect mini daffodils?!
Here is a close up of the daffodils. I punched out the Daffodil Delight card stock (I mean, what other color could I possibly use!!) with the Petite Petals Punch. Then I punched out the little flower shape from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. I laid that little flower on my Stampin' Pierce Mat (which is dense foam) and pressed the center of the flower with the Simply Scored Stylus. By pressing down in the center, the sides raised up to form a cup. I attached the center with a glue dot. This card was inspired by demonstrator Jackie Topa. You can see Jackie's card here.
To make the leaves I punched a scrap of card stock with the Petite Pennants Builder Punch and kept the waste part that I had punched out. The stems are a 1/8" strip of Pear Pizazz. The label that forms the base for the greeting is made with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. I just inserted a narrow strip of card stock into the punch and centered it before punching.
