Happy Whip-It Wednesday! Today's card is a simple, no layer card with the brand new Wondrous Wreath set and the For All Things set – both will be available to order tomorrow, August 28th!
This wreath set is cleverly designed with a positioning "tab". When I mount the stamps on the clear blocks I make sure the "tab" is in the same position for all three layers, so that they will perfectly line up. This card I did a bit differently because I wanted more "Cajun Craze" leaves so I actually wanted the 2nd layer of the wreath to NOT line up.
I stamped the wreath base in Crushed Curry. Then with Cajun Craze I inked up the stamp for the 2nd layer of the wreath, I stamped it on a scrap paper (to give me a lighter version of Cajun Craze). Before stamping I held the stamp above the image with the tab at the top and turned the stamp slightly to the left and stamped. (If you imagine a clock, I stamped the 2nd layer of the wreath so that the tab was pointing at 11:00 instead of 12:00). I then repeated this process but his time when I positioned it above the other images I turned it a bit to the right (so the tab was pointing at 1:00) and stamped. This gave me a fuller wreath with more leaves and color. Since I was not using the matching framelits, I didn't need to worry about it lining up with the framelits.
The berries were the last layer and those are in Cherry Cobbler.
I used the acorn image from For All Things for a little extra detail inside the card.
A bow from the Cherry Cobbler seam binding was the finishing touch!
They refer to Whippets as couch potatoes because when there isn't a rabbit or squirrel to chase, they can be found laying around. She can fill up a couch! Thanks so much for stopping by today!
