And when you lift up the big butterfly you see an inner card front!
Open that card up and you have your traditional spot for the inside greeting and a place to write your message.
In this photo you can better see how the card goes together.
The butterflies are cut with the Big Shot and two different sets of coordinating dies.
This set is called the Butterflies Thinlit Dies and it was the first set that came out a few years back. I used the smaller detail butterfly from this set for the front of the card, and the smallest, outline butterfly for the inside front.
This set called Bold Butterfly Framelits was introduced more recently. I used the large outline butterfly to cut the designer paper for the front of the card, and the small detailed butterfly for the inside front.
Bold, bright, colorful papers like those in the Playful Palette Designer Paper stack work best behind the black butterfly detail. In fact – the more colorful the paper, the better it looks!
The same is true of the little butterfly!
I made a large number of these cards for the Stampin' Up! Mediterranean Cruise swap and we have also been having fun making them at my team gatherings, in my classes, and at stamp parties. I have found most of the patterns in the stack look great with this card! Dimensions and detailed instructions can be found here.
A quick update on our Whip-it Wednesday mascot, Bella the Whippet. Bella's puppies have been keeping her very busy!
They are growing fast and getting cuter every day!
They started on real food last week so that makes Bella's job a little easier!
They have all been keeping me busy as well but I get lots of puppy kisses so it is totally worth it!!
