Hello! I'm excited to share TWO cute treat box designs today – with a window! These Pizza Boxes are the top selling item in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog and it is no wonder! They are so easy and fun to use! I've stepped mine up a bit by adding a cute window – scroll down to the bottom of the post for tips on adding the window!
All the images on the front of my box are from the adorable Spooky Night Designer Series paper – the cat is punched out with the Cat punch, the pumpkins are cut out with the Patterned Pumpkins Framelit Dies, and the witches hat I cut out free hand.
Inside the box, covering the window is a 3" x 3" piece of window sheet. I adhered it to the inside of the box with glue dots. I decided to decorate the inside bottom of the box (also with the Spooky Night paper) so that…..
…after the candy is gone the box can be used as a shadow box to decorate your home for the Halloween festivities!

Here is another version of a pizza box / shadow box. For this version, I added in the Jack-o-lantern from the Seasonal Chums bundle for the Spooky Cat to hide in! Special thanks to demonstrator Amy McNeil. Amy shared a project with me yesterday where she put the cat inside a jack-o-lantern from the Spooky Night paper – I adapted the idea with the Seasonal Chums bundle.
The beauty of using the Seasonal Chums bundle is that this stamp has both the front and back images of the images so you can decorate the inside of the lid with the backside of the pumpkin (and I punched out a solid black cat from card stock to form the backside of the cat). The cobweb die cut is also from the Seasonal Tags Dies that come with the Seasonal Chums Bundle.
The Jack-o-lantern is stamped in Archival Basic Black on Shimmery White card stock and colored with the AquaPainter and Pumpkin Pie and Garden Green ink. The eyes and mouth were colored black with the Journaling Pens.
I also decorated the inside of this box to be a shadow box when the candy is gone.
This photo shows what the project looks like without the candy – perfect to set out with the Halloween decorations!
TIPS: To cut the window I placed the box in the Big Shot with the shiny (inside) of the box up. You will get a cleaner cut if you cut shiny side up. I used the Layering Circle Framelits Dies to cut the window. The size was the 6th smooth sided circle up from the smallest circle. (So if the smallest smooth circle is number 1, then count up to 6 and that is the one I used.)
For the frame on the outside of the box I used the same smooth sided circle and the largest scalloped circle. Then I attached the frame around the circle on the outside of the box using glue dots. The frame idea was inspired by demonstrator Brian King, you can see Brian's pizza box here.
