I have a cute little Easter basket to share with you today including a video tutorial! Do you recognize the chick? I made it using the bird image from Petal Palette….with some alterations!
This tiny basket is the perfect size to hold two Hershey chocolate eggs – yum!
Here is the video tutorial! Or scroll down for photos of the steps.
Let's start with the chick. First, I stamped the bird image in Crushed Curry ink.
Next I used the Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends marker to fill in the bird. I then used the bullet tip of the Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends marker to color in the beak and the feet. For the last step I used the .05 Journaling Pen to color in the eye.
I used the Petals & More Thinlits Dies to cut out the bird image with the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine.
To turn the bird into a chick I simply cut off the tail feathers!
Now for the basket. I used the coffee sleeve die from the Coffee Cup Framelit dies and cut 2 sleeves out of Whisper White card stock.
Then I embossed the two cut out pieces with the Basket Weave embossing folder – this folder is currently available as part of a bundle with the Blossoming Basket stamp set and is a FREE Sale-a-bration choice.
I also cut a handle for my basket that is 1/2" x 6 1/4". I then ran the handle through the Cable Knit embossing folder.
I created a box pattern to form the inside of the basket.
On the left side I cut on the score lines up to the intersecting score line. Then I did the same on the other side and added some Tear & Tape.
This is what the box looks like when it is assembled.
Next I applied Tear & Tape to the backs of the two coffee sleeves and to each end of the handle. I attached the embossed coffee sleeves to both the front and back of the little box and adhered the handle to the inside of the basket.
The little chick was added to the front with a dimensional. I stamped the Happy Easter greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Berry Burst ink, punched it out with the classic label punch, and added it to the basket with a glue dot. I embellished the greeting with a punched flower from the Tree Builder punch, added a pearl to the center and attached it to the label with a glue dot.
I filled my Basket with the Berry Burst Sweet Soiree Ready Shreddie and added a bow with the Berry Burst 5/8" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.
