Discover how to make the Pop-Up Parade Fun Fold — a cheerful card design that adds 3D dimension, folds flat for mailing, and pops with personality!
In the Suestampfield April Virtual Crafternoon class, I designed a unique three dimensional card called the Pop-Up Parade fun fold card. In this blog post, I have 5 striking Pop-Up Parade Cards using a variety of Stampin’ Up! products, a video tutorial and a purchasable PDF tutorial with step-by-step photos and instructions on how to make all the versions.
Not one, not two, but three pop-ups on the front of this three dimensional card. Which makes a parade of pop ups! Above are the five different versions featured in this blog post! Below are more details about each project, the video tutorial, and the PDF tutorial for purchase information.
Perennial Lavender Pop-Up Parade Card
Our April Crafternoon project packet features the fantastic Unbounded Love bundle, the beautiful Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper, and the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder. Customers who placed a $50 product order (before tax and shipping) in my Stampin’ Up! online store in March received a packet in April to create this lovely card alongside me in the video tutorial. (Project packets do not include stamped images, participants stamp a greeting of their choice on the included label.)
The Pop-Up Parade Fun Fold Card stands beautifully for display…
Opens up like a standard card (I left mine blank to customize later)…
And flattens to slide into a standard envelope! Finished size for all the Pop-Up Parade fun fold cards is 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and they all fit in a standard A2 Envelope.
I love the soft and lacy look of the finished card!
Beautiful Gallery Pop-Up Parade Card
The new Beautiful Gallery Suite of products from the upcoming Annual Catalog (coming on May 6th!) is absolutely gorgeous! For this card I used Basic Beige which pairs beautiful with this Designer Series Paper. The Damask Design embossing folder adds an elegant touch.
The unique dies in the Beautiful Motifs bundle make such a pretty accent inside the card. Some of the dies, like this one, do a partial cut that beautifully decorates the cardstock. The sentiments on this card are also both from the Beautiful Motifs bundle. In this open view of the card, you can see that I decorated the sides of the pop-ups with a contrasting pattern from the Beautiful Gallery designer series paper.

The embellishments are also part of this suite, they are called Pressed Flower Motifs and they really give the card a vintage look and feel.

The Floral Impressions Designer Series Paper is so HAPPY! For this Pop-Up Parade card I paired this pretty paper with the new Blooming Phrases stamp set and the Eyelet Embossing Folder.
Inside the card I created a lovely flower with the Impressions Abloom dies and added more sentiments with the Blooming Phrases stamp set.
This side view really shows off the pretty Eyelet Embossing Folder inside! While an inside layer is not necessary – I did put one on some of the versions – it does add a nice finishing touch to the card. The step-by-step instructions are in the detailed Pop-Up Parade Card PDF tutorial, including step-by-step photos.
They are hard to see in the photos, much easier to see in person, but the Strawberry Slush and Pretty In Pink Gems add a nice bit of sparkle to the card.
Take a sip! Celebratory Sips Pop-Up Parade card
Found it – take a sip!! The Celebratory Sips Suite of products (coming online on May 6th) makes such beautiful and fun cards!! There are so many options that I had a hard time deciding which one I wanted to focus on for our card – so I decided to pick the pattern of paper for the sides and pop ups first, and then the purple flowers helped me design the “cocktail”.
The embossing folder comes as part of a two-pack of narrow folders called Glass & Gardens. This pattern is the “glass” and really does look like a cut crystal glass!
The inside of the card has a cheerful sentiment and another strip of the Celebratory Sips Designer Series Paper but with cocktails on it instead of flowers! So fun to create with!
Sunrise Sailing Pop-Up Parade Card!
Ahoy! The new Sunrise Sailing bundle (available online May 6th) includes the stamp set, dies, and a beautiful embossing folder. This set is perfect for masculine cards, 4th of July cards, graduation, retirement, or summer birthdays.
I decided to use inside sentiments appropriate for a graduation, but there are so many events this card would work for – just change the inside greetings! (A happy retirement sentiment is also in the set.)
I used the So Swirly embossing folder on the upper portion and the “water” at the bottom is from the Sunrise Sailing embossing folder. The embossing folder is a hybrid folder, which means when you insert the sailboat die in the folder, line it up with the impression of the sailboat, it also embosses and cuts! The embossing folder makes the sails puff out realistically. I walk you through the process, step-by-step in the detailed PDF tutorial.
The ink and cardstock are Secret Sea (with some Real Red accents) – which give the perfect nautical feel to the card!
