Triple Display Easel Card | Fun Fold Tutorial for August Crafternoon

A Fun Fold That Wows From Every Angle.

I call this design the Triple Display Easel Card because it gives you three beautiful views to enjoy: the front when it’s closed, the middle section when it’s first opened, and finally the easel display when it’s standing up. It’s a fun fold that truly shines from every angle!

In this post, I’m sharing a free video tutorial on how to make the Triple Display Easel card base and photos of different designs! For full details on all the cards, check out my purchasable PDF tutorial which includes measurements, instructions, supply lists, and step-by-step photos to walk you through every detail.

As always, thank you for making and sending handmade cards — you truly are making the world a kinder place, one card at a time.

From the front, the Triple Display Easel Card looks elegant, with the embossed background adding subtle texture and the patterned paper making a bold statement. The layered greeting draws the eye to the center, giving the card a beautifully balanced design when it comes out of the envelope.

When the flap is lifted, a second view of the card is revealed. This stage highlights the clever construction of the fold,  with an inside decorative panel adding texture and a beautiful backdrop for the designer paper and the greeting. This fun “midway moment” adds to the interactive surprise. This card features the brand-new Autumn Toile Suite, debuting this Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025! For this design I used the Amber Autumn bundle from the suite, which includes this stunningly detailed leaf die. It adds such gorgeous texture and dimension to the backdrop inside this card! In the step-by-step tutorial, I share my best tips for cutting this intricate die successfully—so you can get a clean, beautiful cut every time.

Finally, the card transforms into its full easel position — the third display that gives this fold its name. Standing proudly, it showcases both the front panel and the interior backdrop, while the bottom strip forms both a place for a sentiment and a stopper to hold the easel in place. It’s a true wow card, designed to be enjoyed on display long after it’s received. For extra texture and sparkle, I used the new Gathering Leaves embossing folder along with the Cajun Craze and Gold Dots embellishments—both part of the Online Exclusives release on September 3rd. These products aren’t pictured in the catalog, so be sure to check the Online Exclusives section when you shop!”

On the back of the card is a panel to write a note and sign your name. With so many beautiful papers to choose from, each version of this card turns out unique! Here’s a look at the whole collection of Triple Display Easel cards together:

It’s amazing how different each card looks just by changing the patterned paper and colors! From cozy autumn tones to elegant florals, this fun fold really shines no matter the theme. Let’s take a closer look at each of the cards!

Floral Charm Triple Display Easel Card

The version features the Floral Charm Designer Series Paper combined with the Pressed Flowers embossing folder. Customers who placed a $50 product order (after rewards credits and before tax & shipping) in my Stampin’ Up! online store in July received a packet in August to create this lovely card alongside me in the video tutorial. If you qualified, you received the tutorial for free by email on August 31st—so be sure to check your inbox!

The circles are die cut from the Stylish Shapes Dies—one of the most useful and versatile die sets that Stampin’ Up! offers, with stitched circles, squares, and banners that work for any project. The sentiment and the delicate Night of Navy leaves come from the Charming Day bundle, which pairs beautifully with the elegant Floral Charm Designer Series Paper.

And of course, in the final view, the card makes a lovely display! I used different patterns from the pack for the customer packets, you can see the pairings below.

Pretty Peacock leaves bring out the subtle Pretty Peacock leaves in this pattern of the paper.

And Blackberry Bliss leaves make this version pop!

All three versions make a beautiful display!

Or you can flip the floral paper over and have the tone-on-tone side facing up for a monochromatic look that is equally striking.

The card easily flattens to slide into a standard envelope. Finished size for all the Triple Display Easel cards is 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and they all fit in a standard A2 Envelope.

Masculine Autumn Toile Triple Display Easel Card

Remember the first card I shared with the pumpkins and leaves from the Amber Autumn bundle? Now let’s look at a whole different take on the Autumn Toile Suite. This time I paired the Autumn Toile Designer Series Paper with the second bundle in the suite, Amber Trees, to create a masculine card featuring the sweet deer border die. It’s amazing how the same suite can go from warm autumn elegance to a woodsy, outdoorsy feel—making it versatile for so many occasions.

For the inside backdrop on this card, instead of embossing I used another pattern of the Autumn Toile Designer Series Paper. The labels and the sentiment are from the amazing new Branching Out bundle – which also comes out on September 3rd.

Pecan Pie and Early Espresso cardstock are a great combination for masculine cards. I have step-by-step photos and instructions for you in the detailed PDF Tutorial so that you can recreate this card – and all the others!

And on the back, another sentiment from the Branching Out bundle and a strip of the Autumn Toile Designer Series Paper.

Are you ready to see more Triple Display Easel Cards?

More autumn fun with the online exclusive Gathering Together Suite! This Gathering Together Designer Series Paper is absolutely gorgeous! It has gold accents so I paired it with Gold Foil and gold embossing. Once again I used the Gathering Leaves embossing folder for the background.

The cute acorn is from the Gathering Moments bundle, as are the sentiments. This paper is so pretty I decided to add another piece of the green and gold striped pattern to the bottom portion of the inside of the card.

There are a variety of greetings in the set, all in a lovely font. I chose a thank you sentiment for this card.

The backside of the card is dressed up with some more DSP and another gold embossed greeting.

So soft and calming – Peaceful Garden Sympathy Triple Display Easel Card

The gorgeous Peaceful Garden suite is perfect for making a variety of cards. I love the versatility. This first card is a sympathy card using some of the patterns from the Peaceful Garden Designer Series Paper that are more nature themed.

The gorgeous Peaceful Greenery 3D embossing folder is also part of the suite, and makes a lovely background for both the front and the inside of the card. All the dimensions and the directions are in the step-by-step tutorial.

I finished the front of the card with some of the flowers from the Hues of Blues Flowers embellishments.

On the back of the card I added a simple sentiment from the Peace on Earth bundle and some more of the DSP.

Christmas Peaceful Garden Triple Display Easel Card

This is the exact same Triple Display Easel Card design as the sympathy version I shared above—just with a change to the greeting and the patterned paper. The Peaceful Garden paper with its soft white doves makes such a meaningful Christmas card, especially when paired with the ‘Peace on Earth’ sentiment for a timeless and elegant look.

From the inside, you can see how the Triple Display Easel fold really lets the sentiment shine while the embossed background adds subtle texture and depth.

Standing open, this design has real presence—making it easy for the recipient to display and enjoy as part of their holiday décor all season long.

On the backside of the card, I carried through the dove theme with coordinating patterned paper and a heartfelt sentiment: ‘Wishing you Peace, Love & Joy.’ It is amazing that the same suite that created a gentle sympathy card can also make an elegant Christmas card—and it works just as well for encouragement or celebration cards too.

What I love most about the Triple Display Easel Card fun fold is how easily it adapts—whether you’re creating something seasonal, masculine, floral, or holiday themed, the same fold showcases each design in a whole new way. In the free video tutorial below, I’ll walk you through the steps to create the basic card base. If you’d like the complete tutorial with all the cutting and scoring dimensions for the decorative layers (plus all my tips for recreating these cards), you’ll find that available in my full PDF tutorial.
