Whip-it Wednesday: Butterflies, Burlap, and Something Lacy

Butterfly Burlap and Something Lacy2-imp

Happy Whip-it Wednesday!  This is the day that I post a project that is fast to "whip" out.  I'm posting this card as a special request from my customer and fellow passionate paper crafter Kathy G.  I was chatting with her on the phone today and she told me she could not stop thinking about this card ever since I showed it to her on Saturday at Carol M.'s stamp party.  She wanted the recipe so I thought I would post it for everyone.

I love, love, LOVE this Something Lacy background stamp from the Occasions Catalog!  You can order yours here.  So elegant! Here I have stamped it in Sahara Sand ink and the butterfly is cut from Crumb Cake card stock with the amazing Butterflies Thinlits Dies.  I tried Sahara Sand ink with Sahara Sand card stock and it just did not work with the brown of the burlap.

I have seen a lot of burlap and lace combined for wedding decorations so I wanted to give it a try.  I used the liquid glue to attach the burlap to the card and the lace to the burlap.  The Vanilla seam binding is just tied on around the whole card – not glued.

A quick peek at the inside of the card.  Again I used Sahara Sand ink – I wanted a light, soft look.

I created this card at the end of the December for a card swap with my Stampfield Stars team and some other demonstrator friends.  A special Thank You to my Breakfast Club stampers who helped me decide which colors to go with at the December Breakfast Club.

Bella in the Sun Beam1

Here is our Whip-it Wednesday mascot – Bella the Whippet.  You can see why I like Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake – they match her beautiful fawn brindle coloring!  Thanks for stopping by!  Create something beautiful and give it away to someone special!
