Welcome – our theme this month is a "Sneak Peek" into the fabulous products in the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog and the 2016 Sale-a-bration Catalog. Both of these catalogs will be available on Tuesday, January 5th, 2016.
My card today uses the intricate, beautiful new Bloomin' Heart Thinlits Dies! This set of dies is available as a bundle with the coordinating Bloomin' Love stamp set. If you have received your catalog from your demonstrator, (I've heard they have been arriving over the last few days), you can find these products on pages 16 and 17.
To make my Valentine's Day card really "shine", I used the Red Foil paper – love this beautiful, heavy weight foil paper!
Because this die is so intricate, there is a special technique required for cutting, especially when cutting Foil Paper or Glimmer Paper. First, you want to use your magnetic platform AND the Precision Plate, then place the foil paper (white side up), then the die, and then a top pad. The white backing side on the foil paper has a plastic coating on it that cuts best when right next to the cutting blades. Second, send this back and forth through the Big Shot 3-4 times to insure a complete cut.
The FABULOUS new Big Shot Die Brush is the next step. First I rolled it on the back of the die to eject the foil heart from the die…
and then I rolled it on the back (white side) of the die-cut to get out the rest of the little paper bits that were clinging to the die. Super quick and fast – this is a MUST HAVE tool if you own a Big Shot!
I stamped the inside greeting with the coordinating Bloomin' Love stamp set in Archival Black Ink.
Finishing touches were rhinestones of varying sizes and the soft Basic Black 3/8"Stitched Satin Ribbon.
Dimensions for this project:
- Whisper White card base 4 1/4" x 9 3/4", scored at 5 1/2"
