Love this beautiful stamp set, Floral Statements! So fun to mix in the black Vintage Crochet Trim from the Halloween section of the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog. Turns out it's not just for Halloween! I was inspired to make this card by Michelle J. – she placed an order in my Online Store tonight and ordered this set. Which made me think of how beautiful the set was, and the next thing I knew, I was stamping and coloring all of the day's stress away! Thank you for inspiring me Michelle!
I stamped the image in Archival Basic Black ink on the Shimmery White card stock. TIP: The lettering on this stamp image is very bold, if you are stamping on the Shimmery White card stock apply a lot of ink to the image, stamp on a firm surface (like a laminate desk or countertop), and hold the stamp to the paper with pressure for the count of 8. The Shimmery White paper is a bit textured so if some of the letters are not as bold as you would like, color them in with the black Journaling Pens. I had to do that to one of the letters because there was a dog hair (imagine that – lol) that had gotten on my stamp and that part did not stamp well. A few pearls add to the vintage theme!
I stamped the image on Shimmery White card stock because it holds up really well to watercoloring – and that is a perfect way to color this image! I used the AquaPainters with Old Olive ink refill and Berry Burst. The card base is Pear Pizzazz.
The other stamp image in the set is also gorgeous! This is a card that I made with that set and shared back in August. Thank you so much for stopping by! Happy paper crafting!
