Happy Fall! It is back to school time here in Minnesota – my son started 10th grade this week (see photos at the bottom of this post). I am so grateful for all the wonderful educators that we have had over the years – so today I wanted to feature a fall appreciation card that is perfect for the people in our school system who I am so thankful for!
If I tilt the card in the light you can see the shine. The pumpkin is adhered to Copper Foil paper and above and below I have adhered strips of the Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Series Paper. This paper is heavyweight kraft paper printed with bright foil designs – I'm using one of the Tangerine Tango patterns for this card.
Inside of the card – expressing my thanks with a greeting from the Painted Harvest stamp set and adding in a gift card for a yummy pumpkin something!
The pumpkin and vines are cut from the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits Dies in Cajun Craze card stock – the leaves and vines are in Old Olive card stock. See below for a tutorial on how to use the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to adhere these detailed dies.
Cut a piece of the Multipurpose Adhesive sheet that is slightly smaller then your card stock (but at least as large as your die).
Peel back the white backing of the adhesive sheet that is covered in words.
Below the backing is a sheet of sticky stuff!
Place the sticky side down on your card stock.
Place your farmelit on top (or flip it over and place it on the other side).
Now send it through the Big Shot on the magnetic platform.
It's all cut out but still inside the framelit die.
You can see that it cut – but with the adhesive sheet it tends to stay in the die – we just need a tool to poke it out.
You can either use the Die Brush or the Paper-Piercing Tool like I used for this image. To adhere the pumpkin just peel off the white backing (use the Paper-Piercing Tool to lift the backing enough to grab on to.)
Now adhere it to your project! I attached the leaves and vines with glue dots but you could use the Multipurpose Adhesive sheets for them as well.
So here is my 6'3" "little" boy on the first day of 10th grade…
…and here he is in front of the same tree on the first day of 3rd grade – seems like just yesterday although both boy and tree have grown!!
And one more – this was his first day of preschool so long ago. Isn't it amazing how quickly the years fly by!!
