Hello! I’m back with more fun Two Tier Eclipse cards to share with you! You may recall the cat card…
…that I did a few posts ago – you can see it here. For the cat card I used a punch to do the technique, today we are using the large letter framelit dies.
To make this card, I stamped the word Christmas first. Then I cut out the letters. I put the white letters back in the negative spaces, with a post it note on the backside to hold them in place. Then I stamped the pines so they were covering just a portion of the letters. You could stamp the pines first and then cut, but it would be harder to judge exactly where the pine boughs would end up – I like the control I get by cutting first.
The greeting from Christmas Pines actually says “Christmas Blessings”. I placed a post-it note over the word Blessings, inked up the stamp in Real Red, removed the post-it and stamped the greeting. I cut one pine cone diecut…
and then cut the pine cone in half and used half on the left side of the card and half on the right so it would look like I had cut two – aren’t I sneaky?! Lol! The pine is a two step stamp. I stamped the more solid pine bough in Wild Wasabi and then stamped the wispy stamp on top of it in Garden Green. I love how it gives the branch that two toned effect!
Of course I had to do more pretty pines inside of the card – and the greeting was perfect with my Christmas “JOY” greeting on the front.
The next three cards were made with a really fun stamp set in the new Holiday Catalog called Gourd Goodness. I love this two step leaf! This one was Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla card stock and makes a great fall card. I used the same post-it note trick on the greeting to omit the word “you” that was on the stamp.
This one is a winter look maybe? I used Crumb Cake and Early Espresso for the leaves. I brushed Wink of Stella on the leaves to make them look frosted, you can see that…
…. a little bit in this picture.
And then we have lovely greens for a spring and summer look. I used Wild Wasabi and Garden Green again (the same color combo that I used on the pines). The “Just For” stamp is from a stamp set called Work of Art.
Here is my trio of cards for 3 (or 4) different seasons!
