Hi friends! I need your advice! I can't decide which version of this card I like better – which do you prefer? This version with the autumn grasses and flowers…
…or this version where I flipped the autumn grasses pattern over to the side with the geometric design in Early Espresso.
Both patterns come from the Stampin' Up! Painted Autumn Designer Series paper – such gorgeous paper! Usually I tend to prefer either one side of the paper or the other – but I like both sides of this one!
The greeting with the acorn has been floating around on my desk – a leftover piece from an earlier version of this Joy Fold card – which also used a pattern of Painted Autumn – the acorns. You can read more about this card here. I kept seeing the greeting laying on my desk and decided to make it into a quick card.
This side of the paper reminds me a bit of an old fashioned gingham pattern – the type they would make dresses out of in the old west. It is feminine, happy, and carefree. The Linen Thread adds to the vintage feel of this pattern.
This side of the paper is much more masculine to me. The geometric pattern makes the card look textured and adds a lot of depth. And on this version the Linen Thread adds to the rustic feel.
A quick update on the puppies – on Sunday they had a big day at the dog show! They each earned a point towards their Championship titles! Mercy took WB (which is best girl dog) and Winston took WD (best boy dog) and BOW (Best of winners). Both pups had to be in the ring together for the final round so my niece Georgia helped me out by showing Mercy for me – even though she had never handled at a dog show before – brave girl! Thanks Georgia!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Please let me know in the comments below which side of the paper you prefer on this card! Thanks for your advice!!

I love them both but I think I like the flip side best! I love browns so that might be the deciding factor!
Thanks for the advice Carla – I love browns too!
I like both of your cards ! The second one flipped over is quite masculine to me. That’s a plus since it’s so hard to make an awesome masculine card – which is what you accomplished ! Thanks for sharing !
The geometric one is much easier on the eyes. Great card!
Thanks so much Jeanne! Masculine cards can be a challenge – who new a flower set would work so well for masculine cards!!
Thanks so much Barbara! Good point – the floral paper is pretty busy!
I like them both equally. One seems more masculine to me and the other more feminine. TFS
Thank you so much for your input Barbara! I agree with you – I think either would work depending on who the recipient is!
I prefer the geometric card since it makes for a great masculine card. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much Kathy!!
