I excited to share my nest full of birdie treat holders with you today! These are SO simple to make with the new Petite Treat Framelits and a few punches! I have two short videos for you (the first one shows how to put the treat holder together, the second one shows how to create the bird).
This is the set of Petite Treat Framelits Dies for the Big Shot. You can choose three different styles for your treat holder – straight top, rounded top, or heart top which is the one I used for this project.
I used the new 2018-2020 In Color 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper for my nest of birds – this years In Colors are so bright and happy – which makes them perfect for this project!
I wanted to make it easy for the recipient to get the candy out of the treat holder without having to tear it open (and ruin it!) so I used the Stampin' Up! 2018-2020 In Color Mini Binder Clips to clip the bottom closed instead of adhesive. Perfect match!!
I used several different punches for the eyes, beak, and wings – see the supply list below or watch the video for the names of the punches that I used. This Pineapple Punch bird has a very Big Bird look about him!
Inside my bird treat holders I put packages of Skittles to match the bright colors of the birds.
Here is the first video (part 1) where I explain how to cut and assemble the treat holder.
In this video I walk you through how to turn your treat holder into a bird.
This bird is made with Call Me Clover… so I call her Clover.
And this is Punchie, made from Pineapple Punch of course!
And this bird is called Berry made with the Blueberry Bushel.
Let's call this one Grover, made from Grapefruit Grove.
And our fifth bird is Lovely, made from Lovely Lipstick!
Here is a quick photo of my setting as I put together this blog post – sitting at a lovely little coffee shop in St. Paul MN while I was waiting to pick up my son from an activity. I love the flexibility of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator – I can do my job and still be at home with my kiddo and available to run him around to his various summer activities!
Have you ever thought about becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator? Whether you are looking for a fun job or just want to become a discount personal shopper – now is a great time to give it a try with a FREE set of 10 ink pads in the color family of your choice (Brights, Subtles, Regals, Neutrals, or In Color) and the amazing build your own starter kit discount!
