Charming Channel Pop Up: New Fun Fold! Six Cards from the August Crafternoon

This new fun fold has a fun surprise inside! Six gorgeous versions of the Charming Channel Pop Up in this post – both vertical and horizontal styles.

Oh how I love creating new fun fold cards! This beautiful Charming Channel Pop Up fun fold design has a hidden surprise inside! In this blog post I have 6 different designs of the Charming Channel Pop Up Fun Fold card, a video tutorial, and a purchasable PDF tutorial with step-by-step photos and instructions on how to make all the versions, both horizontal and vertical.

When the card is open, up pops a beautiful surprise!

So charming! Can you see the channel popping up in the photo above? What a special card to send to family and friends. This is just one of the vertical versions of the Charming Channel Pop Up Cards from my virtual August Crafternoon Creative Escape class.

This first Charming Channel Pop Up card features the stunning new Season of Elegance Suite from the Stampin’ Up! September – December mini catalog on Basic Beige cardstock – beautiful!

A mega suite like the Season of Elegance comes with not just one bundle, but two! The Peaceful Season bundle is the one with all the pretty labels – I love the extra little details the die cuts into the label. And the Peaceful Season bundle also has the word “Christmas” and sentiments stamps to match. The Peaceful Evergreen bundle has the trees (and a beautiful bow die too). The Designer Series Paper is called the Season of Elegance, which has beautiful gold accents, and the Painted Trees 3D Embossing Folder that I used on the front of the card is also a part of this big and wonderful suite. I’m finding that Basic Beige cardstock is a perfect compliment to gold!

The Charming Channel Pop Up Cards fit in a standard A2 envelope.

The finished size of the card when closed is 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and it fits in an A2 envelope.

Another vertical version: the Splendid Autumn Charming Channel Pop Up!

Can you believe that September is almost here? What a perfect time to create your autumn cards with the Splendid Autumn Suite of products in the new Mini Catalog! For this card I used Pecan Pie cardstock so that the “picture” that I die cut from the Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper would be the star of the show. Having the brown card base helps the colors in the pretty paper “pop”. The stunning frame die is part of the Autumn Expressions bundle that is in this suite, I die cut it from the copper Textured Metallic Specialty Paper.

In the PDF tutorial I have two different greeting options for you to choose from. Both of the greetings are from the Autumn Expressions stamp set. Isn’t the font on these sayings beautiful? I also love the wheat fronds stamp image from this Autumn Expressions set!

In these side views you can see the how the panel pops up. But don’t worry, it folds completely flat for mailing.

So Cute! Another vertical Charming Channel Pop Up card, this time for Halloween!

This Halloween card is not very spooky, but it sure is sparkly and fun! The Potions & Spells bundle makes such cute Halloween cards! As you can see, I used the Dotted Circles 3D Embossing Folder on both the outside and the inside of the card. This popular folder has been out of stock, but is due to arrive back in stock next week.

The labels are from the Greetings of the Season dies and are so versatile! These labels have a hole in them so I custom colored the Black & Very Vanilla Large Check ribbon with the dark Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blend marker. And how cute is that black kitty??

In the step-by-step tutorial I have a section on how to make the bases for both the vertical and horizontal style, and all of the directions for every version. The Nests of Winter Designer Paper from the new Mini Catalog is so lovely! The pretty paper made decorating the front of this Charming Channel a breeze. Especially when paired with the new Christmas Labels bundle.

For the inside of the card I paired the Country Birdhouse dies with more of the Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper! I love how you can die cut some of the birds right out of the paper with the Winterly Tree Top dies! So easy! This next Charming Channel Pop Up is perfect when you need a masculine card!

The Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder makes simple and striking sentiments – especially on metallic papers! This embossed gold paper greeting perfectly pairs with the Season of Green & Gold Designer Series Paper – which would be ideal for masculine themed cards.

Inside the card out pops a beautiful tree made with the Frosted Forest dies! In keeping with the “woodsy” theme, I used the Timber 3D embossing folder on the top of the pop up channel.

Horizontal Brown-Eyed Susan Charming Channel Pop Up card

Customers who placed a product order of $50 in my Stampin’ Up! online store before tax and shipping in July received the packet in August to make this card along with me in the video tutorial. This Charming Channel Pop Up card features the Cheerful Daisies dies, the Country Woods Designer Series Paper (now back in stock and on sale for a couple more days!), and the Season of Green & Gold Designer Series Paper.

The sentiment inside is from the Cheerful Daisies stamp set. I used the Exposed Brick embossing folder for the background and to add texture to the centers of the Brown-eyed Susan (latin name Rudbeckia). These flowers are also called Black-eyed Susans depending on which strain of Rudbeckia it is. In the prairies of Iowa growing up (and now here in Minnesota too) we had the Brown-eyed Susan variety – but both are lovely! The Cheerful Daisy die also makes pretty cone flowers in a variety of colors! The gingham pattern from the Season of Green & Gold Specialty Paper is so versatile – it works with so many card designs!

I used two different patterns of the Country Woods Designer Series Paper for the packets. Any of the darker wood designs work great!
