I'm excited to share a couple of projects with this adorable stamp set today! I colored the image with the new Watercolor Pencils (in exclusive Stampin' Up! colors – see below for more details!). This card was a New Year's Card for my Stampfield Stars team members.
The start of a new 'baby" year is a great time to set goals – so I made this an encouragement card by using the Shooting Star stamp set for the inside of my card. If you have ever considered joining Stampin' Up! so that you can take full advantage of the great discount – now is the best time to give it a try. During Sale-a-bration you not only get $125 in product for only $99 but you also get TWO FREE stamp sets of your choice and a 20% discount on your future orders! Find out more here.
Of course this stamp set also makes an adorable baby card! This version is done with Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo cardstock.
Here is the back of the card – love this sweet message! Both of these cards are the Triple Panel Standing Card layout, you can see step by step how to make this card on this blog post.
Here are all of the images the come in the stamp set.
I stamped the image in StazOn Jet Black on Shimmery White paper. The paper has a coating on it – this makes it a good choice for watercoloring because it is easy to move the colors around on this coating and it can stand up to more moisture then regular Whisper White. I colored the baby's sleeper using the Bermuda Bay pencil. I just outlined the image and then used my blender pen (a pen with clear fluid) to color in the rest of the sleeper.
These are the Stampin' Up! Watercolor pencil colors that come in the pack. I chose Bermuda Bay pencil because it matched my paper. For more tips on how to use these pencils, watch the great video below!
The large spray of stars stamp from Star of Light made a perfect background. The Star of Light set has been carried over from the Holiday catalog and is still available to purchase.
It took me a while but I had a lot of fun making these cards for my Stampfield Stars team members! I had a couple of stamping friends (Cheryl Johnson and Carol Hirsch) who came over and helped – thank you gals!
I encourage you to give the watercolor pencils a try – coloring is a great way to relax and "de-stress"!
A quick check in with our whip-it Wednesday mascots – Bella, Mercy, and Winston the Whippet Family. It has been cold, icy, and snowy here in Minnesota the last few weeks, so the dogs try to keep as warm as possible by burrowing in the blankets. It saves me the task of making my bed most days as it will just be unmade as soon as they get in it – tee hee. Fine by me – more time to stamp!
The frigid temperatures have made it impossible for the pups to play outside, so they make their own play inside! This includes (from top left corner, clockwise) ripping the stuffing out of their toys, getting into the bows and wrapping paper that are stored under the bed, chewing up slippers, sandals, and pens, and ripping up paper (in this case, the catalog from the St. Paul dog show that they competed in this past weekend). They certainly keep me on my toes! Happy stamping everyone!
