For today's card I'm sharing a fun fold called a Center Slide Easel card featuring the new Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set and the new Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper. This is what the card looks like when it is "open"…
And this is what it looks like when it is "closed". It fits in a standard envelope when closed and then can be opened and displayed by the recipient – fun! This card is super easy to make but has a "wow" effect – see the step by step tutorial below!
Here is another version using different patterns from the Garden Impressions paper. This paper is so lovely and is just like an impressionist painting! The card base on both of these cards is the new, lovely Soft Sea Foam – I love how soft this color is!
This is the card when it is "closed". The fantastic greeting is from the new Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set (all of the greetings shown today are from that set) – which has 32 sentiments for all your card making needs. Most of the greetings fit on the classic label punch and cover almost every holiday and occasion you could think of.
This is a mini version of the Center Slide Easel card – it is portrait instead of landscape and the finished size is 3" x 4".
Several of the patterns in the Garden Impressions are in blue and yellow tones – so soothing! The ribbon is the Blueberry Bushel 1/8" Grosgrain.
To make the full size version, start with a card base of 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". Place the cardstock in the Stampin' Trimmer so that the 5 1/2" width is at the top of the trimmer. Place the left edge of the paper so that it is lined up with the 1 1/2" mark…
Now slide the cutting blade down and STOP when you reach the center score line (the 4 1/4" mark on the blade slide ruler).
Open the trimmer and slide the left edge of the cardstock to the 4" mark. Slide the blade down until you reach the score line (the 4 1/4" mark on the blade slide ruler).
Crease on the score lines using the bone folder – your card will now look like this.
Use SNAIL adhesive to adhere the two outside panels down to the card base. Use a fair amount of adhesive and burnish the cardstock with the bone folder so that it does not pop open.
Now fold the remaining center panel in half as shown. This will be the portion that will be displayed.
Now the fun part! Decorate your card using two long panels of Designer Series Paper that are 1 1/4" x 4" and two rectangular pieces for the center that are 1 7/8" x 2 1/4". On the inside of the card, mount a greeting on Dimensionals. The Dimensionals will raise up the greeting so that it props up the center portion of the card. The ribbon is the new Lovely Lipstick 1/8" grosgrain ribbon.
For the mini card start with a piece of cardstock that is 3" x 8" and scored at 4". Place the cardstock in the trimmer with the 4" width at the top and the left edge is at the 3/4" mark. Cut to the score line (the 4" mark on the blade slide ruler). Lift the blade and slide the left edge to the 2 1/4" mark, and cut down to the score line. Adhere and fold just as you did on the other version.
