Maximize your Brushed Foil by making two cards from one Merriest Moments frame!

These rich, gorgeous cards are sure to impress your family and friends this holiday season! Making two cards from one frame will speed up your holiday prep AND maximize your Brushed Metallic Cardstock. I made versions of this card in different colors of cardstock with each of the different metallics from the package.

The Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder makes the most gorgeous cards! It comes with the folder AND the dies. You can also purchase it as a bundle with the coordinating Merriest Moments stamp set. I used the sentiments from the Merriest Moments set on these cards. Check the bottom of this post for a beautiful autumn themed card made with this same set.

This version of the card pairs Blackberry Bliss cardstock with the copper color from the Brushed Foil Cardstock pack. I also used Champagne Rhinestones which match the copper perfectly!

This is a “Z-Fold” card, here is what it looks like when open. The card base is 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2″. One of my viewers suggested I add a panel inside the card to the left. This allows room to write a message and sign the card. It worked perfectly – thanks Judith!

To make two cards from one frame I simply cut the frame. I did not cut it exactly in half because I did not want to lose any of the pretty leaves! So I chose a spot where I could easily separate the pieces and keep everything.

The 12″ x 12″ Brushed Metallic Cardstock comes in 3 colors, 2 sheets of each. The colors are from left to right – Bronze, Gold, and Copper. I wanted to use all 3 colors to maximize my metallic cardstock. And to make as many Christmas cards as I could from it. Scroll down to see them all!
How to cut the Brushed Metallic Cardstock

This photo shows how I cut the 12″ x 12″ Brushed Metallic Cardstock to make 8 cards from each sheet. This made a total of 48 cards from the package of Brushed Metallic Cardstock.
- Four pieces 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ for the frames
- The stitched rectangle die cuts the center of the frame, so we have four stitched rectangles.
- But we need four more. The 3-1/2″ x 12″ piece that is left works perfectly!
- In the video I cut the flower from the stitched rectangle. However, I found there is room left after the frame piece is cut to get flowers out of each corner.
- If you want more flowers there are the small leftover strips at the bottom.
In this video I walk you through the steps to make these gorgeous cards.
Cards with the other metallics from the pack

In addition to the Blackberry with the Copper, I paired the Gold with Evening Evergreen. The remaining Bronze was perfect with Merry Merlot. Such lovely, rich colors. All are lovely!

The Merry Merlot paired with the bronze is so beautiful. The Champagne rhinestones matched too! They seem to reflect to colors that they are near so they are quite versatile.

The sentiments from the Merriest Moments stamp set are made to match these dies. No need to search my stash for greetings that will fit the frame.

The Evening Evergreen paired with the gold is so elegant and “Christmas-y”! Once again, the Champagne Rhinestones look fantastic with the gold.

I cut the layer inside the card at 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ and embossed with the Merriest Frames 3D Embossing Folder. The perfect finished elegance for the inside of the card.

My Stampfield Stars team member, Ashley Carlson from the Country Hive Stamper, made this gorgeous autumn card with the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder and the Blending Brushes! Such a great idea to expand this gorgeous folder and die set to other seasons!

Thank you so much for sharing this paper saving video. Mass producing elegant cards can be tricky with the speciality paper. I also love your “unmentioned” tip of using self liner under your Stampin’ Cut Die Cutting and Emboss Machine to limit movement of the machine. Beautiful cards, again thank you.
One of the most elegant creative Christmas cards. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for your kind words!
Just gorgeous cards. Thank you for sharing
