A brand new fun fold card! I created the Springboard fun fold for the Suestampfield Crafternoon Creative Escape in April. These handmade cards have springs inside and they stand for display!
It’s time to learn a new fun fold card! The Springboard Fun Fold Card is sure to impress your friends and family! The card stands for display, as shown above. The front panel is on springs made from cardstock. Then when the card is opened – there is another spring inside that pops out! Sometimes it is the greeting that pops out, sometimes it is an image. So many possibilities! The Springboard Fun Fold name is perfect because the front of the card bounces up and down on it’s springs, just like a diving board.
When the card is closed it is a finished size of 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and easily fits into a standard card envelope. I made six versions of this fun card to share with you today – and one of the version I did in 5 different colors! I hope these 10 cards inspire your creativity.
At the bottom of this post there is a step by step video on how to assemble this style of fun fold card. I also have an option to purchase a step-by-step tutorial for the basics of this fun fold design and directions on how to make ALL of the projects shown in this blog post.
The first card features the beautiful Countryside Inn suite of products from the upcoming Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog which starts on May 2nd, 2023. The Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper is absolutely gorgeous with all those pretty blues – so elegant. The Countryside Corners bundle allows you to stamp one large image, and then cut out multiple pieces from that one image with the nesting dies! The Night of Navy Bordered ribbon is a perfect finishing touch.
Where are the springs?
In this “top down” view above, you can see the paper springs inside the card. The springs add incredible dimension and movement to the card, but, because they are just paper, they fold flat. The paper springs were inspired by Sam at Mixed Up Crafts, the rest of the fun fold design was my original creation. I love to create unique fun fold cards for my monthly Crafternoon events!
Let’s look at more Springboard Fun Fold cards, the featured fun fold card for the April Crafternoon event.
Stampin’ Up! is having a color refresh in the new catalog. Fresh new colors are so fun to create with! I created this card using the new Bubble Bath cardstock – such a pretty color. The Cheerful Daisies bundle (also in the new catalog) added a lot of cheer to the card. The centers of the flowers are Lemon Lolly, which is also a fresh new color!
The embossing folder on the front is the Countryside Blooms embossing folder – it will also be in the new catalog. Or any of the product that I’m showing today can be added to the starter kit now.
When the card opens – out pops a sweet little daisy! On a spring, of course. In the side view below you get another look at the “springs” inside the card. So fun!
The April Crafternoon Make-N-Take project!
For my virtual monthly Crafternoon event, this pretty card was the make-n-take project. The card features the beautiful Hello, Irresistible Designer Series Paper and the Irresistible Blooms bundle. Customers who placed a $50 order (before tax and shipping) in March, received the packet to make this Springboard card in April. Once again the embossing folder on the front of this pretty card is the Countryside Blooms embossing folder from the upcoming catalog – I can tell this one will be a favorite because it is so elegant!

Cuteness Alert! This next Springboard Fun Fold card springs AND swings!
So adorable! This is the Little Monkey stamp set and matching punch that will be available on May 2nd, 2023 in the new Stampin’ Up! catalog! Our little monkey is swinging on a “vine” made from the Crumb Cake twine in the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack. The Fern 3D Embossing Folder makes the perfect “jungle” background for our little monkey!
When you open the card – out springs another darling monkey – with his banana in hand! In the tutorial bundle, I walk you through how to make this card, and ALL the other cards shown in this post. What other cards could you create that “spring” to life when opened?!
Creative inspiration is just around the corner with this set of Springboard Fun Fold cards in the new 2023 – 2025 Stampin’ Up! In Colors!
The Springboard Fun Fold card is a perfect way to introduce the beautiful new Stampin’ Up! In Colors that will be coming out on May 2nd in the new Annual Catalog! The Circle Sayings bundle comes with the stamp set and 2-3/8″ Circle Punch that I used to make these cards.
Above we have the beautiful Moody Mauve – so pretty! And below is the Boho Blue – such a soft, pretty blue – it is a very peaceful color.
The new Copper Clay In Color is above – perfect for fall and masculine cards – but also lovely with this flowered arch from Circle Sayings! Below is Pebbled Path. This pretty neutral is a lovely taupe and will be a great addition to the Stampin’ Up! color collection!
And the last new In Color is called Wild Wheat – a beautiful gold and green tone. All of these In Color cards feature the In Color Textured Ribbon, the 2023 – 2025 In Color Dots, the In Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper 2023 – 2025, and the hobnail pattern from the Basics 3D embossing folders.

More Daisy fun with the Fresh As A Daisy Springboard Fun Fold card!
What a pretty birthday card to send to a special friend! This card features the new Fresh As A Daisy Designer Series Paper from the new Annual Catalog. One of the patterns in the pack has sections that can be cut apart to make quick and easy cards – like this one! In the Springboard Fun Fold Tutorial I walk you through how to cut the paper so that you can replicate this card perfectly.
Of course we have another adorable daisy that “springs” out when the card is opened! The daisy and the front sentiment are made with the new Cheerful Daisies bundle that will be out soon! In the photo below you can see the inside sentiment – it is from a pretty new sentiment set call “Lasting Joy”.
