Five versions of a new fun fold card in this post! I created the Double Decker Pop Out card for the Suestampfield Crafternoon Creative Escape in May. This amazing card has a fun pop out surprise inside and stands for display!
It’s time to learn a new fun fold card! The Double Decker Pop Out Card is a quick and easy card to make – that packs a fun surprise inside when opened. This style of fun fold card is extremely versatile and works with many different stamp sets and papers. So many possibilities!
When the card is closed it is a finished size of 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and easily fits into a standard card envelope. I made five versions of this fun card to share with you today – and one of the version I did 2 different ways! I hope these cards inspire your creativity.
Let’s take a look at the pop out mechanism inside the Double Decker Pop Out card.
In the photo above you can see what the inside pop out mechanism looks like. When the card is opened it is a box shape, but collapses flat when the card is closed. At the bottom of this post there is a step by step video on how to assemble this style of fun fold card. I also have an option to purchase a step-by-step tutorial for the basics of this fun fold design and directions on how to make ALL of the projects shown in this blog post.
The first card was the make and take for this month’s virtual Crafternoon class and features the fantastic Timeless Arrangements bundle and the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper. Absolutely gorgeous! The Timeless Arrangements bundle is extremely versatile and comes with 16 fabulous dies. The Countryside Blossoms embossing folder adds the perfect elegant touch. The sentiments are from the new Lasting Joy stamp set – I love the beautiful font in this set!
I used three different patterns of the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper for the cards – which one do you like best? Customers who placed a $50 order (before tax and shipping) in April, received the packet to make this Double Decker Pop Out card in May. You can join me for next month’s Crafternoon to learn another unique, new fun fold if you place a qualifying order this month!
In the close up below you can see the beautiful Boho Blue Textured Ribbon. If you are a Boho Blue fan this ribbon is stunning and a great addition to your cards. So pretty on our “window box” arrangement!
Ready to see another Double Decker Pop Out card?
How about a gorgeous grad card? This card is made with the new Beautiful Balloons bundle and the Gold Celebrations Specialty Designer Series Paper. In the tutorial I show you how to make a graduation cap, or mortar board, with a scrap of black cardstock and the paper trimmer. The tassel is one of the dies in the Beautiful Balloons die set and it is perfect in gold!
The Gold Celebrations Specialty Designer Series paper is actually a clear window sheet with a shiny gold design. It adds a an extra fancy touch to the card. You get three different patterns in the pack – so fun! In the PDF tutorial I show you a clever way to adhere the window sheet at the back of the card so that the adhesive can’t be seen.
The embossing folder is from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders 3-pack, this is the hobnail glass pattern. I love the sentiments in the Beautiful Balloons stamp set – perfect for grads!
More fun with the Beautiful Balloons bundle – this time it’s a birthday party hat!
More fun with the Beautiful Balloons bundle! OF COURSE I had to make a birthday version complete with birthday party hat! This version is in Tahitian Tide but it would be great in any color. In the PDF tutorial I walk you through how to make a hat – so easy with a scrap of Gold Foil Paper and the paper trimmer. The tassel is one of the dies in the Beautiful Balloons die set and is the perfect touch for the party hat.
The Gold Celebrations Specialty Designer Series Paper once again adds that touch of “fancy”! The step-by-step directions are all in the Double Decker Pop Out Tutorial.
Adorable Double Decker Pop Out Card with the Zany Zoo suite!
This little turtle is singing “Happy birthday to you”! So adorable and perfect for making birthday cards. The dies in this adorable bundle cut out images from the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper which means you can make quick and cute cards!
The backside of the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper has various fun black and white designs – which work for every project. The Geometric Patterns is a new embossing folder 2-pack. These are the narrower embossing folders that perfectly fit in the Mini Machine (or, of course, they fit in the full size machine as well).
Each pattern of the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper has an animal that can be die cut with the matching dies. So you could recreate this card with all of them! I love the raccoon with the balloons so I just HAD to do another version featuring this cute critter!
On the raccoon version I used the other embossing folder from the Geometric Patterns two-pack – love the triangles! And they would work so well for masculine cards. I also used a different pattern of the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper for the background – just to change things up. Both the pink ribbon on the singing turtle card and the Lemon Lime Twist ribbon on the raccoon card are from the Duo Ribbon Combo pack – you get both rolls in the pack!
Create sweet and pretty cards when you match up the the Darling Details bundle and the Double Decker Pop Out Card!
How cute are the eyelet frame dies that come in the Darling Details bundle?! These dies were perfect for the Double Decker Pop Out Card. On the inside of the card I used the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper and added some Brushed Brass Butterflies to finish the card. In the tutorial bundle, I walk you through how to make this card, and ALL the other cards shown in this post.
Below you can see all the stamp images and dies that come in the Darling Details bundle – so fun! The long straight border die can be used by itself or you can thread ribbon through the slots.
The eyelet frame dies add such a delicate touch – so many creative possibilities! And it is just perfect with the Double Decker Pop Out card design!
