I’m so excited to share this gorgeous Layering Leaves easel card with you today! Today we are celebrating Rachel Tessman’s million dollar stamp set, Layering Leaves with a special blog hop! Check out ALL these fabulous cards that you can make with this amazing stamp set.
I absolutely love the stamp set that Rachel designed along with one of the Stampin’ Up! artists!! Today I am joining along with a special blog hop to celebrate Rachel’s accomplishment! Rachel signed up to be a demonstrator with me back in 2000 and she is a wonderful person, fantastic leader, and great friend. Today I’m joining with our team members to create with this beautiful stamp set.
The Lovely Leaves easel card features the stamp image with the leaf “veins” and the fill in stamp. The outline was stamped in Pretty Peacock. Then I inked up the “fill in” stamp in Pretty Peacock, stamped it on a scrap paper, then stamped it inside the outline. This gave me a slightly lighter version of Pretty Peacock for the interior of the leaves. For the sweet little rose bud image I colored directly on the stamp with makers. First the buds with the Berry Burst marker and then the stem with the Pretty Peacock marker.
An amazing stamp set!
One of the amazing things about this set is that the images perfectly match the Bough Punch!! This is one of Rachel’s favorite punches (we have had it in the catalog for a few years), so having a stamp set that matches that punch is PERFECT!
To finish the front of the Layering Leaves easel card, I used the beautiful Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper (DSP) which is ON SALE this month!! It added the perfect POP of color. In the center of the DSP I added a narrow strip of the Soft Shimmer Specialty Paper, the Pretty Peacock pattern. So pretty! The embossing folder is called Exposed Brick and I used the white sequins from the Adhesive-Backed Sequins for some sparkle.
Inside the Layering Leaves easel card I added a piece of Masterfully Made DSP layered on Pretty Peacock. I mounted this on Dimensionals to form a “stopper” or an easel to help the card stand for display.
Above the easel piece there is plenty of room to write a personal message.
I also made a Layering Leaves easel card version with the reverse side of the paper and a different stamp that is more plant like then flower like. This version is a bit more masculine.
