Oops! Your Slip Is Showing Fun Fold Cards!

Need some creative inspiration? I have five versions of a new fun fold card in this post. I created the Your Slip Is Showing Fun Fold for the Suestampfield Crafternoon Creative Escape in July.

The center panel of this freestanding trifold card peeks out past the front of the card – just like a slip that is showing beneath a dress! The fun comes in when you think of all the different ways to decorate the edge of the “slip”! The Your Slip Is Showing Fun Fold is a easy to make, fits in a standard envelope, and stands for display. This style of fun fold card can be created with many different stamps, dies, and papers – lots of fun options!

The first card was the make and take for this month’s virtual Crafternoon class and features the Dainty Delight dies, the Wanted To Say dies, and the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper. The Wanted To Say dies not only have the word dies, they also have a die that cuts a layer for each word! These dies will give you card a very polished and professional look. Because the Your Slip Is Showing Fun Fold card is a trifold, you get to decorate three panels any way you wish.

Customers who placed a $50 order (before tax and shipping) in June, received the packet to make this Your Slip Is Showing card in July. You can join me for next month’s Crafternoon to learn another unique, new fun fold if you place a qualifying order this month!

So where is the “slip” on this version of the Your Slip Is Showing Fun Fold?

In this version the “slip”, or the edge of the center panel that is peeking out past the card front, is decorated with a 1/2″ piece of Designer Series Paper. In the other version below, I share lots of other options.

When the card is closed it folds flat, is a finished size of 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″, and easily fits into a standard card envelope. At the bottom of this post there is a step by step video on how to assemble this style of fun fold card. I also have an option to purchase a step-by-step tutorial for the basics of this fun fold design and directions on how to make ALL of the projects shown in this blog post.

Ready to see another version of the Your Slip Is Showing Fun Fold? This one also uses the Wanted To Say dies for a completely different look!

Fun! What a bright and cheerful way to send birthday greetings to your family and friends! In addition to the fabulous Wanted To Say dies, this card features the Beautiful Balloons bundle and the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper. The fringe die in the Beautiful Balloons dies makes for a super fun “slip” on this card! In the PDF tutorial I walk you through, step by step how to make this card.

The colors I used on the front are Azure Afternoon, Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green, Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Bubble Bath, and Melon Mambo. The little balloons are die cut from the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper.

The Wanted To Say Dies have more then words! The die set includes some fun images – like this present and bow die. There is also a cluster of stars, some hearts, and a flower. And of course, the slip is decorated with more of the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper. The double fringe on this card make me think of a flapper dress from the 1920’s!

The cute stamp images in the Beautiful Balloons bundle are perfect for decorating the back panel. The embossing folder comes from the three pack Basics Embossing Folders and is the hobnail glass design. It’s like a whole birthday party packed into one card!

The One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper is NOT just for Christmas!

For this version of the Your Slip Is Showing I used the beautiful One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Papers from the Stampin’ Up! Online Store to create a nature themed / masculine card. The “Thinking of You” sentiment on the front is from the Season of Chic stamp set. The “slip” is decorated with a woodgrain pattern from the papers. This absolutely gorgeous One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper will be available in the Stampin’ Up! Online store while supplies last as part of the new online exclusive products.

The rest of the “slip” is decorated with the fox pattern. In fact, the woodgrain design is the other side of the paper with the fox pattern. The step-by-step directions for how to cut each of the two patterns of your One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper are all in the Your Slip Is Showing Fun Fold Tutorial so that you can recreate this card exactly.

The column inside the Your Slip Is Showing Fun Fold card is the mechanism that makes the center panel pop out, and helps the card be freestanding, It is also another place that you can decorate – this one has some more of the woodgrain pattern from the One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper. And this back section was that perfect place to use the left over piece from the pattern I used on the front of the card. While I decided to make this version a winter birthday card with a sentiment from the Season of Chic stamp set, it would also be perfect as a sympathy card or an anniversary card.

Oo-la-la! A stunning poppy version of the Your Slip Is Showing Fun Fold card!

The Stampin’ Up! Paper Florist dies make the most stunning flowers! And they are easy to use. In the step-by-step tutorial, I walk you through how to make this pretty card. The front panel features the Cane Weave 3D Embossing Folder and the Basic Border dies add a pretty scallop on the front of the card…

And the edge of the slip is embossed with the swirly floral from the Countryside Blossoms embossing folder.

Inside there is a pretty bouquet from the Paper Florist dies on the rest of the center “slip” panel. Poppy Parade Cardstock and Basic Black make a stunning combination!

The sentiments are from the Lasting Joy stamp set – such a beautiful font in this set!

More fun with the Paper Florist dies, this time with Bubble Bath and White!

Pretty in pink! I had so much fun with the Paper Florist dies that I could not resist making another version of the Your Slip Is Showing Fun Fold card in Bubble Bath and Basic White. For this soft and sweet version the Cascading Ruffles makes the perfect “slip” decoration. In the tutorial bundle I walk you through how to make all of these cards!

Once again I used the Countryside Blossoms embossing folder and the pretty sentiments are from the Lasting Joy stamp set – but the finished look is completely different.

The pretty ribbon in Bubble Bath from the 3/8″ Sheer Ribbon Combo pack threads right through the column that helps the center panel pop out!

  1. I love this card and made it with a slight addition. I put a tiny piece of velcro on the back to hold it close. It can open with the slightest pull if you want to expand.
