Do you love unique fun fold cards? This fun fold card has a mini ping pong table inside!
Are you wondering what on earth Ping Pong Pop Up fun fold cards are? The front of the card looks like a standard card, but when you open it up…
And it looks like a mini ping pong table! Well, normally the ping pong ball is NOT inside the card – lol. The two inside sections pop up and are divided by the center of the card (the “net) – which my husband decided looked exactly like a mini ping pong table!
I have six lovely Ping Pong Pop Up cards to share with you today! In this blog post I have a link to a video tutorial that walks you through the basic card base dimensions and assembly of the Ping Pong Pop Up cards. I also have a purchasable PDF tutorial with step-by-step photos and instructions on how to make all the different versions. The Ping Pong Pop Up cards are actually simple to make and are really fun to decorate and give!
Our first Ping Pong Pop Up is with the gorgeous Citrus Blooms bundle and the Mediterranean Blooms Designer Series Paper. The dies in the Citrus Blooms bundle are stunning! An embossed layer with the Dashing Designs 3D embossing folder to the front of the card adds extra texture.
I could not resist making my own “orange” themed sentiment (see above). I typed it up on my computer and printed it out. It just makes the card extra fun! The sentiment below is from the Citrus Blooms stamp set.
So cute! Lily Pond Lane makes a darling Ping Pong Pop Up card!
So, so cute!! I love the adorable images on the Lily Pond Lane paper, and the matching Charming Duck Pond bundle is so cool! The dies cut this gorgeous frame with the cattails and lily pads, and the dies even cut out some of the duck images from the Lily Pond Lane Designer Series Paper!
The cute images on this paper makes this a very quick and easy card to make! This card features the Stylish Shapes dies – they are one of my “go to” label die sets! The Ping Pong Pop Up cards are VERY easy – I walk you through how to make every version in the step-by-step tutorial PDF tutorial.
The Wildly Flowering Suite makes another beautiful Ping Pong Pop Up Card
This version of the Ping Pong Pop Up Card was the make and take for the May Crafternoon virtual class. Customers who placed a product order of $50 in my Stampin’ Up! online store before tax and shipping in April received the packet in May to make this card along with me in the video.
Our make-n-take Wildly Flowering Ping Pong Pop Up card features the Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper, the Wildflower Designs bundle, and the Dashing Designs 3D Embossing Folder. Beautiful!
The small banner on the front is from the Stylish Shapes dies and the greeting on the front is from the Unbounded Love stamp set. The Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper is just beautiful! I also love the fun shapes in the Wildflower Design dies – especially this pretty scalloped frame.
Yes, Ping Pong Pop Up Cards fit in an A2 envelope!
The finished size of the Ping Pong Pop Up Card when closed is 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.
Navy & White Mediterranean Blooms Ping Pong Pop Up!
I love blue and white cards! The Mediterranean Blooms Designer Paper is gorgeous, and has lots of blue tile patterns! The dies are from the Citrus Blooms dies – which are a part of the Mediterranean Blooms Suite of products. Simple yet stunning card.
This card features the sentiments from the Unbounded Love set. Such a fantastic greeting set.
Pretty in Pink with Sketched Butterflies
I love the new In Colors from the new catalog SO much!! This sweet and simple card pairs Pretty In Pink with the lovely Sketched Butterflies bundle. Add in a bit of sparkle with the Iridescent Faceted Gems for the perfect extra touch of shine!
The greeting circle is die cut with the wonderful Spotlight on Nature dies. You can see them on the next card in this post too!
In this top down view you can see how the card is constructed. The center fold gives the card stability so that it can stand for display and also helps the ping pong table sides “pop” up.
Are you loving the Ping Pong Pop Cards? This last one is the Spotlight on Nature card and it has a special closure mechanism!
How gorgeous are the Spotlight on Nature dies?? This die set features 12 circles with beautifully detailed edges. The die set comes with 2 circles in each of the 6 sizes, but the circle edges have different varied decorations!
This card features the sentiments from the Unbounded Love set AGAIN! (I love this greeting set!) This card also features more loveliness with the Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper! The background on the front of the card is one of the patterns from the Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper, but I embossed it with the Dashing Designs 3D embossing folder (which is also a part of the Wildly Flowering Suite).
This card features a closure, in case you would prefer the card to stay closed when it comes out of the envelope. I discovered that my initial plan of adhering the closure piece to the back of the card did not work, it added stress to the inside pop ups and made them come apart. So I redesigned it to only be attached on to the front, and now it works perfectly. All of the details including the measurements and the score lines are in the PDF tutorial.
The inspiration for the Ping Pong Pop Up cards came from a card I found on Pinterest by Crafty Card Designs. The card was made with an 8″ x 8″ card base. I loved the look but wanted a card that would fit in an A2 envelope and that would not take so much cardstock to create. So I designed a new version of the fold so that I could get the card base and both pop up pieces from one 8-1/2″ x 11″ piece of cardstock. You can see Crafty Card Designs card here.
